Day 2: Temple Attractions Visits in Sringeri
We'll leave after breakfast in the morning to tour some of Sringeri's most famous temples. Our day journey will begin with a visit to Kigga. Kigga, about 9 kilometres from Sringeri, is a small village famous for its Rishya Shringeshwara temple (Rishya Shringa). We will travel to Hariharapura, a pilgrimage place in the Koppa Taluk, after offering prayers at the Rishya Shringa temple. Hariharapura's main feature is the Adi Shankaracharya Sharada Lakshmi Narasimha Peeta, a Goddess Sharadamba Mutt on the banks of the Tunga River. Following that, we'll travel to Shakatapuram, a sacred site on the banks of the Tunga River. We will pay a visit to Shri Vidya Peetam, a 600-year-old mutt. We'll then return to our hotel in Sringeri for a relaxing overnight stay.
